In 2020, Vaibhav Arora was picked as a net bowler by Punjab Kings in the IPL. That exposure to international cricketers taught him valuable lessons. “I realized I had the skills, but wasn’t using my variations effectively,” Vaibhav recalls.
Fast forward to IPL 2024 and 2025, Vaibhav Arora became a key player for KKR. His 2024 season started with a three-wicket haul and ended with 11 wickets in the bag. While the spotlight was often on the team’s powerful batting and strong spin attack, Vaibhav and fellow Indian pacer Harshit Rana quietly held the pace unit together. With Mitchell Starc struggling for rhythm early in the season, the duo ensured KKR remained competitive.
Though he was used mostly as an Impact Substitute, Vaibhav Arora never complained. He knew the value of waiting for the right opportunity. In contrast to 2018, in 2025 he has everything he once dreamed of.

Vaibhav Arora’s growth continued off the field. Under the guidance of legends like Mitchell Starc and Dwayne Bravo at KKR, he absorbed valuable knowledge about discipline, preparation, and death bowling tactics.
“Mitchell Starc taught me about maintaining a lifestyle journal, being disciplined and confident. Watching his routine made me realize the importance of effort behind the scenes,” says Vaibhav. With Dwayne Bravo, Vaibhav is now learning the art of bowling in death overs and how to strategize field placements effectively.
KKR assistant coach Ottis Gibson has publicly praised both Arora and Harshit Rana for their development and maturity.
From Struggles to Stability
Reflecting on his journey, Vaibhav Arora says, “From not being able to afford rent to having everything I could’ve wished for—life has changed.”
It’s been a journey of resilience. Whether it was the support from his coach during tough times or inspiration from Arshdeep Singh, every bit helped Vaibhav stay on track.
Now 27, when asked what he’d tell his younger self, Vaibhav Arora responds with a smile: “Keep working hard regardless of your situation and don’t stop believing in yourself. One day, you will be rewarded.”
